Design Focus

After the synthesis and storyboarding process, we had to choose a focus for our design. We considered the values that had emerged from the concept validation sessions, as well as the user impressions and other feedback for each of the concepts. It became clear that the Meal Calendar was the strongest concept, and we chose this as our design focus.

Design Process

With our Meal Calendar focus, we then began the process of writing and illustrating a script for our video sketch. We developed personas for our family members as well as a typical daily schedule for the family, to help guide the script. The illustrated storyboards were used to help setup the photography for the video, while the script was to be read by voice actors for the audio track.

Also important for our project was the design of the physical device and its interface. Brainstorming was used to generate ideas for the product, while the interface was developed through an iterative process.
