.: bio :.

I am an aspiring artist but a perpetual geek. I love playing the piano but really can't. I have survived for days on cookies and no sleep. I can chug a gallon of water without bursting. Be warned.

I was raised with the wheat and corn in Kansas' farmlands and found myself in Penn's Woods after high school. College launched my career in engineering, while friends, hobbies, and curiosities have kept life in balance. I've been married to my beautiful wife for over 5 years, and we are grateful owners of a charming old house, an affectionate pit bull, and a delightful baby boy. Although this website got its name before he came around, my son has helped me to live life with a genuine sense of optimism, curiosity, innocence, and joy -- not to drudge through a dark and dismal existence, but rather to be alive and aawake!

Among the hobbies and curiosities of mine are home remodeling, building computers, graphic & web design, running marathons, playing foosball, and gazing at the stars. I'd like to get more involved with playing piano, music composition, outdoors activities, tutoring & mentoring, and self-defense. I was never a boyscout, but always try to be prepared. I think a lot about technology, philosophy, christianity, politics, and other social issues. I believe that faith is a crucial part of life.

Some other interesting stuff if you're still reading: I have had contacts since 3rd grade, I was a high school valedictorian, state xylophone soloist, and on a state winning cross country championship team. My grandpa had 18 siblings even though great-grandma was "too small to have any children", I have a great-grandpa who lived to be 104, I hold a U.S. patent, I can't dance, and I got a D in computer programming but now program every day. I believe in God's entrance into humanity in the person of Jesus Christ, but that his followers tend to botch things up. I believe that Jews, Muslims, Catholics, and Protestants have roots back to the same God but we can only truly know him by humbling ourselves and believing in Christ (John 3:16-17). I think we have a responsibility to help those around us who are hungry and needy, to care for the environment, and to live simply and thoughtfully. I support limited government (power corrupts) and believe that abortion stops a beating heart, pornography offers nothing good to society, and the judiciary is guilty for a great many of our problems today by legislating from the bench and awarding frivolous lawsuits.

So enough of my ranting. Thanks for visiting and know that I'm always interested in hearing your thoughts and feedback via the contact page.
